Multiplier event in Slovenia

MCPZ held multiplier event for InnovatiVET project on 27th of November 2019, starting at 10.000, finishing at 15.00.

55 participants attended the event. They all received printed version of project results: IO1 Baseline Study and IO2, 3 and 4 Toolkits as well as all presentations from the event.

Participant came from schools (primary, VET schools, gymnasiums), kindergartners, Centre for school and after-school activities, Employment Service of Slovenia, Institute of the Republic of Slovenia for Vocational Education and Training, Slovenian Institute for Adult Education, adult education institutions, companies …

Participants praised the material we gave them as well as presentations and speakers. Programme began with two welcome speeches to highlight the situation in schools in terms of innovative teaching approaches and industry currency of teachers. This was followed by the presentation of the project, project partners and results. Special focus was given on innovative approaches for work with talented students, first presentation of national study of the topic, approaches and recommendations and after good practice example of the approach of school centre that is also working on establishment of R&D unit.

In the afternoon session we had workshops led by teachers from Secondary Preschool Education and Gymnasia Ljubljana which is known of innovative teaching approaches based on team workshops. They presented exercises for mutual cognition of team members and trust building, which is essential for future success of team work.

Presented approaches were in correlation with InnovatiVET project results that also emphasize team approach as well as project work, which is applicable in all schools but with adapted projects and approaches. This adaptation also needs innovative teachers and if possible cooperation of outside partners so students can actually work on real work situations.

We saw on the event that the climate is good and the willingness exists on both sides as well that there is a recognized need of teachers to use new teaching methods and approaches since generations nowadays are so different than the used to be.
